Health Tests

by admin on October 1, 2009

With the emergence of computers, guarding our health is taken a notch higher. Lots of machines were invented to monitor our body inside and out. Centuries ago, people only rely on physical signs to detect if a person is sick but there are diseases and sickness which can’t be recognized by the naked eye. Thanks to the bright minds of science which made life easier and with their invention saved billions among billions of life.

One famous “health machine” would be the ultra sound. It is famous for detecting the heartbeat and gender of a baby but it is also use to detect if there are foreign antibodies in our stomach and intestines, myoma for example. Sugar and cholesterol levels can easily be detected within five minutes with the use of blood test meters. X-ray, on the other hand, is used to detect if our bones are fine as well as our kidneys and lungs. Even ones blood pressure can be easily read with blood pressure machines.

These equipments make us aware of our health conditions. Knowing the results of these tests is not enough. These machines will be rendered worthless if we will not do something about the results they produce. They are not meant to scare us but rather we should be thankful for these machines gives us an idea of what is going on in our body.

In conclusion, we should not wait for the time when the only “health machine” that can be used on us is a defibrillator.
